Android hits the market (2)

I have received some comments around the Android launch and people being reluntant to jump into the first device (from HTC) that appears in the market

T-Mobile G1

While understanding these thoughts I believe the key will not be on the terminal side (although it is worth noting anyway that HTC is trying Android operating system where until now they were running windows mobile in all their latest smartphones).
Key question will be if the operating system really adds any value and for that to happen the user community needs to start developing applications (as done for example with facebook) which will enrich any terminal and this needs to be an easy task compared with the cumbersome process of writing and running apps on WAP browsers or client based applications on Symbian or windows based devices

It is Interesting to see that some reputable content providers such as Glu (www.glu.com), one of the best mobile game developer companies around the globe, among others are already announcing the first dedicated applications for Android
