Well it is true that finally it is hot. It has probably being the most rained Spring in decades which for sure we needed here in Spain. However apart from the weather it is difficult to sense the summer, or not?
In the past 2 years I have realized that first it is fundamental to make sure employees take their vacation and that unless it is a matter of life or death you need to respect their petition (as many of them book flights in advance, coordinate with their couples or friends the dates, etc…)
However We have had the luck (no matter what the situation winning business is always welcome) that past summers we always close different sales and we manage to be either working 120% in order to make up for the absence of some resources or being on vacation taking calls, working in the morning, etc…
So even if I am dying for some vacation I realized that this year I will not manage to really mentally relax (which is what really needs a switch off) until people is back, the new projects/clients aligned, some new recruits will have joined us and the we clear up with our VC upcoming priorities. So vacation will have to wait although we will manage to take some long weekends and do some drives to the beach and the mountains. However don’t expect to hear much from me between September 15th and September 30th because I intend to find a place with no coverage (if possible) ☺
